The long awaited bathroom in our cave is complete! Inspired by the raw beauty and historical significance of the space, we embarked on a mission to breathe new life into its ancient walls.
Being the largest (by far) of the bathrooms in the house, we cannot wait to take advantage of the additional space and functionality it will bring to our home.
One part of the transformation that we have been anticipating is the integration of the doors. We found a couple of old doors in the space when we first purchased the house (shown above in original state), and wanted to repurpose one for our bathroom, and rehang the main cave door.
The original door into the cave we called the 'dungeon door'. With its rustic, ancient appearance - it appealed to us and we couldn't be happier with how it has turned out. Paying homage to the home's history, nothing less than this wonderful piece would have worked.
Thank you to Giuseppe, Tano and Antonio for the hard work building this new space for us - one that will be well-loved for years to come! I cannot wait to see it in person in a couple of weeks when I arrive :) .
